Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports the recalled Slides are made of stainless steel and have both single and double bedway options.

There are welds on both sides of the Slides attaching the bedway (i.e., the angled metal component kids actually slide down) to the sidewalls, with the welds running continuously from the top to the bottom. There are no identifying marks on the slides.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Playground Slides are pictured on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the weld between the Playground Slide’s bedway and sidewall can crack and separate. A child’s fingers can get caught in the space, posing an amputation hazard. Playworld is aware of 13 incidents of broken welds, including two (2) children who have suffered finger amputations.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Playground Slides, please do not use them nor let your child play on or near them. Instead, kindly contact Playworld for a free replacement Slide and free installation. A temporary barrier will be shipped to parents and other caregivers prior to shipment of a replacement Slides to prevent children from using the slide. Playworld is also contacting consumers who purchased the slides directly.

Please note: the recalled Playground Slides were sold by independent distributors to public parks, schools and municipalities from November 2000 through October 2016 for between $1,500 through $4,000.
