Canada/Ottawa: King's Pastry brand Tuxedo Bar Cake Recall [Canada]King’s Pastry recalls certain batch/lots of King’s Pastry brand Tuxedo Bar Cake due to undeclared Hazelnuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to this recall:

  • King’s Pastry brand Tuxedo Bar Cake, sold in 1050 gram boxes; applicable product codes for recall: all codes where Hazelnut and/or Tree Nuts are not declared on the label; UPC: 6 85961 10038 1

According to the CFIA, King’s Pastry has recalled certain batch/lots of King’s Pastry brand Tuxedo Bar Cake from the marketplace because they contain Hazelnuts, an ingredient not declared on the product label. People with an allergy to Hazelnuts should not consume the recalled product identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Cakes and/or Baked Goods and could be allergic to their Hazelnut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
