The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Pesto are subject to this recall:

  • One Heart brand Swiss Chard Pesto, sold in eight (8)-ounce jars (approximate weight). Affected products include all units sold up to and including December 15, 2016.
  • One Heart brand Swiss Chard Pesto, sold in 16-ounce jars (approximate weight). Affected products include all units sold up to and including December 15, 2016.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, One Heart Organics has recalled all current batch/lots of One Heart brand Swiss Chard Pesto up to and including those produced on December 15, 2016 from the marketplace because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. You should not consume the recalled Swiss Chard Pesto identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Swiss Chard Pesto, please do not consume it directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
