EU issues 47 Product & Vehicle Recalls

FlagEUBelgium/Brussels: The European Union issues Report 50-2016 of its Rapid Alert System containing 47 new consumer, automotive and industrial-based product recalls; a must-read for parents, caregivers, drivers, health and safety workers, company owners, supervisors and others:

Among the 47 recalls the European Union has announced in this third report of December 2016, the following notification was made:

Ecolite brand Akustické Cidlo Dymu/Akustické Cidlo Koure Smoke Detector, sold with a type/number model designation of XLX108A; and a batch/barcode number of 8590849495966. The type of hazard presented include potential property damage and injuries caused by fire due to the fact the recalled Smoke Detector does not have sufficient sensitivity and can fail to generate an alarm signal during an emergency condition.

The product, therefore, does not comply with the requirements of the relevant European standard, EN 14604 and has been ordered recalled from end users and withdrawn from the marketplace.
