The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Bagged Spinach are subject to recall:

  • Heritage Fresh Salad – Spinach, grown in Spain and sold in 200 gram clear cello bags with a wihte and green label and a lot code of 5016 or 5026

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Nisa Retail Limited is recalling two (2) lot codes of its Heritage Bagged Spinach from its Fresh Salad range, because the products may contain small pieces of metal.

If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, contamination or adulteration. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Bagged Spinach, please do not consume it directly nor use it as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
