The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Friarielli is subject to recall:

  • Italcarciofi brand Friarielli (translation: Turnip Top Leaf in Sunflower Oil) sold in 1062 ml glass jars with a batch/lot of ITCS339 and a best-before date of 05/12/2016

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, the Alivini Company has recalled the above batch/lots of Italcarciofi Friarielli (Turnip Top Leaf in Sunflower Oil) because preliminary investigations by the Italian National Institute of Health has suggested this food product may be associated with three (3) suspected Botulism cases in Italy.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Italcarciofi Friarielli, please do not consume it directly nor use it as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
