The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Roach Fish is subject to recall:

  • Chilled Dried Salted Common Roach Fish, sold in 200 gram packages, a date code of 110010 with best before dates of 19 December 2016, and 26 December 2016.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Monolith UK Ltd has recalled certain batch/lots of Chilled Dried Salted Common Roach Fish due to concerns over the company’s procedures in place to control Clostridium botulinum. The Fish has been linked to Botulism cases in Germany and is being recalled from customers as a precautionary measure.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Roach Fish, please do not consume it directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
