The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Hummus is subject to this recall:

  • Trader Joe’s brand Mediterranean Hummus, sold in 454 gram (one pound) plastic tubs with use-by dates up to and including 12/15/16.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Hummus can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Transilvania Trading has recalled certain batch/lots of Trader Joe’s brand Mediterranean Hummus from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should not consume the recalled product listed above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Hummus, please do not consume it directly nor use it as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
