US/Washington: Omni Roasted Chicken Recall [US]Omni Custom Meats, Inc. recalls an estimated 191,695 pounds of marinated Roasted Chicken Quarters due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Soy, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Products are subject to this recall:

  • 5,477 cases of 35-pound, heat-sealed bags, each containing 52 pieces of Roasted Chicken Quarters – Sea Salt, Cane Juice, Chicken Broth Powder, Canola Powder, Spices.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the recalled products subject to recall bear establishment number P-2199 inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distributors in Georgia and Missouri.

US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service discovered the problem on Nov. 21, 2016 during routine label verification activities.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Roasted Chicken and could be allergic to their Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
