US/Washington: World Menu Egg Roll Pork Recall [US]Water Lilies Food Inc. recalls an estimated 1,710 pounds of Egg Roll due to suspected misbranding and undeclared shrimp, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Egg Roll are subject to this recall:

  • 15-ounce (425 gram) boxes containing five (5) pieces of World Menu Egg Rolls Pork with a best by date of 07-12-2017, a packaging date of 07-12-2016 and a UPC code of 6-88267-06951-2.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Egg Rolls can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Egg Rolls subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. M21465A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to a distribution center in Westfield, MA

The problem was discovered from a consumer complaint when a customer bought Egg Rolls and shrimp was found inside. It was subsequently discovered that the recalled Egg Rolls contain shrimp, a known allergen not declared on the product label. Additionally, this item was mislabeled as “Pork Egg Rolls”, when in fact, Shrimp Egg Rolls were packaged inside.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Pork Egg Rolls and could be allergic to their Shrimp ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
