Canada/Ottawa: Golden Buffalo Pineapple Cake Recall [Canada]The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) recalls certain batch/lots of Golden Buffalo brand Pineapple Cake due to undeclared milk and sulphites/sulfites, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Pineapple Cake is subject to this recall:

  • Golden Buffalo brand Pineapple Cake, sold in 250 gram loaves; product codes: all lot codes where Milk and Sulphites are not declared on the label; UPC: 6 47406 00235 3

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Pineapple Cakes can be found on the Web site above.

According to the CFIA, it has recalled certain batch/lots of Golden Buffalo brand Pineapple Cake from the marketplace because they contains Milk and Sulphites/Sulfites, neither of which is declared on the food product label. If you have an allergy to Milk or sensitivity to Sulphites you should not consume the recalled product listed above.

Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
