The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate Croissants are subject to this recall:

This recall applies to Whole Foods Market’s Stores in its Mid-Atlantic region. This includes 51 stores located throughout Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington DC.

The recalled products were made and packaged in-house in clear plastic containers in counts of six. Each product also had a white label on top of the package that included the product name “Chocolate Croissants 6pk” with a UPC of 0248422008994 and sell-by dates on or before November 5, 2016.

According to the FDA, select Whole Foods Market Stores have recalled certain batch/lots of its Chocolate Croissants because the product contains Eggs, an ingredient not declared on product packaging. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Chocolate Croissants and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
