The UK Chartered Trading Standards Institute (“CTSI”) reports the following Honey is subject to this recall:

  • Hilltop Honey brand Raw British Creamed Honey, sold in 340 gram glass jars with batch expiry codes of 16/04/2017, 29/05/2018, 11/06/2018, 14/06/2018 or 18/06/2018

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CTSI, Hilltop Honey has recalled five (5) batches of its Raw British Creamed Honey due to small pieces of metal being found in the product. The company has advised that the product should not be consumed.

If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
