Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Salads are subject to this recall:

  • Fresh Express brand American Salad, sold in 11-ounce predominantly green-colored plastic bags with a clear window, a product code of G264A127A; a best-by date code of 05-Oct, a UPC of 0 71279 241005 and distributed in US states of AL, FL, GA, NC, SC and TN

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Salads can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, the recall was caused by the possible mistaken inclusion of a number of Caesar Salad condiment packets with the above undeclared allergens in some American Salads. Although the condiments are in a separate clear packet and labeled “Caesar”, the ingredient list for the condiments is not included on the package label and therefore, consumers will not be aware that the four (4) allergens listed above are present.
