The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Smoked Salmon is subject to this recall:

  • Mt Kisco Smokehouse brand Atlantic Smoked Salmon – Whole
    • lot number: 13723516; use-by date code: 09 12 16
    • lot number: 12125316; use-by date code: 09 30 16
  • Mt Kisco Smokehouse brand Atlantic Smoked Salmon – Sliced, sold in 8-ounce (~226 gram) plastic packages
    • lot number: 12125116; use-by date code: 09 28 16
    • lot number: 12125216; use-by date code: 09 29 16
    • lot number: 11325716; use-by date code: 10 03 16
    • lot number: 11325816; use-by date code: 10 05 16

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the recalled Smoked Salmon was distributed in New York and Connecticut through retail stores and restaurants from 9/6/2016 to 9/16/2016.

The whole Smoked Salmon is packed in an unlabeled paper box and delivered to restaurants while the sliced Smoked Salmon Fish was sold in a clear plastic package and labeled on the back with lot and use by date.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Smoked Salmon Fish, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Smoked Salmon to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
