US/Silver Spring: Brach’s Almond Supremes Chocolate Candy Recall [US]Ferrara Candy recalls certain batch/lots of Brach’s brand Almond Supremes Chocolate Candy due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared peanuts and wheat, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate Candy are subject to this recall:

  • Brach’s brand Almond Supremes, sold in 5-ounce predominantly brown colored plastic bags with an item number of 39733, a date code of 6G23CC33102 and a UPC of 11300 39733

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Brach’s branded Chocolate Candy is pictured on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, Ferrara Candy Company has recalled the above identified batch/lot of Brach’s Almond Supremes with a best-by date of 4/22/2017 after discovering that some packages actually contain a different candy, specifically Brach’s Bridge Mix, a product that contains peanuts and wheat.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Brach’s brand Almond Supremes Chocolate Candy and could be allergic to their Peanut and/or Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
