The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Salmon Roe (Fish Eggs) are subject to this recall:

  • Imperial Caviar & Seafood brand Salmon Roe, 50 gram pot; product codes: BB/MA 23-AUG-2017, LOT: 23616-03; UPC: 1 86866 90024 8
  • Imperial Caviar & Seafood brand Salmon Roe, 50 gram pot; product codes: BB/MA 23-AUG-2017, LOT: 23616-04; UPC: 1 86866 90024 8
  • Imperial Caviar & Seafood brand Salmon Roe, 50 gram pot; product codes: 12-FEB-17, LOT: 04116-02; UPC: 1 86866 90023 1

According to the CFIA, Imperial Caviar & Seafood has recalled certain batch/lots of Imperial Caviar & Seafood brand Salmon Roe from the marketplace because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. You should not consume the recalled Fish Eggs listed above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Salmon Roe, please do not consume it directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
