EU issues 20 Product & Vehicle Recalls

FlagEUBelgium/Brussels: The European Union issues Report 36-2016 of its Rapid Alert System containing 20 new consumer and industrial-based product recalls; a must-read for parents, caregivers, drivers, health and safety workers, company owners, supervisors and others:

Among the 20 recalls the European Union has announced in this September Report, the following notification was made:

Timgro’s York brand Hichair; sold with a type/number model designation of 72000292; an unknown batch number or barcode. The type of hazard presented include injuries due failure to design the Infant’s High Chair with sufficient stability leading to a situation that the Chair could easily tip over backwards and cause serious injuries to the child. In addition, there are accessible gaps between the High Chair’s lock and the leg of the Chair. This defect may cause a different set of injuries to the child. specifically, the entrapment of his or her fingers between moving parts and pose laceration and/or amputation risks.

The product, therefore, does not comply with the requirements of the relevant European standard, EN 14988, and has been ordered recalled from end users and withdrawn from the marketplace immediately.
