The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Baby Food is subject to this recall:

  • Heinz brand Strained Prunes, sold in 128 ml tubs with a best-before date code of 2017 JN 10 and a UPC of 0 575330 7

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the CFIA, Kraft Heinz Canada has recalled certain batch/lots of Heinz brand Strained Prunes from the marketplace due to possible presence of pieces of rubber. You should not consume the recalled product listed above nor feed it to your baby or infant.

If plastic or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
