Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves single and double occupant Swivel Wheel Jogging Strollers that have a quick release mechanism for removing and re-attaching the front wheel.

Instep, Instep Safari and Schwinn Grand Safari brand Swivel Wheel Jogging Strollers with the following model numbers are affected. The model number is located on the back of the stroller seat on a label.

  • Instep Safari TT Double Stroller; model number: 01AR266CRED
  • Instep Safari TT Double Stroller; model number: 01AR265
  • Instep Safari Deluxe Double Stroller; model number: 01153CCWU
  • Instep Safari Swivel Wheel Jogging Stroller; model number: 01AR180
  • Instep Free Wheeler Jogging Stroller; model number: 01SC701
  • Schwinn Grand Safari Tandem Jogging Stroller; model number: 04STAD12

According to Health Canada, if not installed properly, the front wheel of the recalled Baby Stroller can become loose and detach, posing crash and fall hazards.

Neither Dorel Juvenile Canada nor Health Canada has received any consumer reports of incidents or injuries related to their use in Canada.

In the United States, however, Pacific Cycle has received 132 reports of the front wheel becoming loose or unstable, resulting in 215 injuries, including head injuries, sprains, lacerations, bumps, bruises and abrasions.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Baby Strollers, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Pacific Cycle to obtain a free repair kit.

The repair kit includes a replacement mechanism for securing the front wheel that uses a traditional screw on/off method of attachment instead of the quick release lever method of attachment originally shipped with the product. Consumers have been asked not to return the Jogging Strollers to the retailer where they were purchased.
