Additional information:
Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves BOKA brand Infant Pacifiers made of maple wood with nipples made of silicone or latex (sizes 0 to 6 months and 6 to 18 months) that were sold exclusively during the Montreal Parents and Kids Fair on April 9 to 12, 2015, at the manufacturer’s (Les Produits Arboreka) kiosk.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional variations of the recalled Infant Pacifiers are pictured on the Web site above.

Pacifiers made and sold after the Parents and Kids Fair in April 2015, either in retail outlets or online, are not affected by this recall.

The recalled Infant Pacifiers have the following four (4) characteristics (please refer to images on the Web site above):

  1. Lack of engraving of the BOKA trademark on the guard;
  2. The guard is slimmer;
  3. The edges of the guard are more sanded and irregularly sanded;
  4. The groove around the button has machining irregularities.

According to Health Canada, the button on the recalled Infant Pacifiers can detach from the guard, presenting a choking hazard for young children. One (1) incident, in Canada, when the button detached was reported to Health Canada and Les Produits Arboreka Inc. No injuries were reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Infant Pacifiers, please do not let your child use them. Instead, parents should destroy the Pacifiers by cutting off the nipple with scissors and carefully breaking the guard and button and throwing the broken Pacifier in the household garbage. You can contact Les Produits Arboreka Inc. to obtain a new product in exchange.
