The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Fish and Vegetable Products are subject to this recall:

  • Blue Marlin and Vegetables Skewers packed by La Poissonnerie Cowie Inc., 180 gram package; product codes: all units sold up to and including August 2, 2016; UPC: none
  • Blue Marlin and Vegetables Skewers packed by La Poissonnerie Cowie Inc., 4 by 900 gram packages; product codes: Projet 300576, 300585 and 900007; UPC: 1 06 28477 10162 3

According to the CFIA, an earlier food recall for the Blue Marlin Fish ingredient of this offering has been updated to include additional two (2) new products. This additional information was identified during the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) food safety investigation.

La Poissonnerie Cowie Inc. has recalling certain batch/lots of Blue Marlin and Vegetables Skewers packed by La Poissonnerie Cowie Inc. from the marketplace due to elevated levels of histamine. You should not consume nor distributors, retailers and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals and nursing homes sell or use the recalled products listed above.

Please note that the individual 180 gram Blue Marlin and Vegetables Skewers were also sold at retail fresh, marinated, unlabelled, and in bulk without the original packaging. Consumers who are unsure if they have purchased the affected Blue Marlin and Vegetables Skewers are advised to contact their retailer.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Fish Products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
