The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Fish Products are subject to this recall:

  • Sea Delight brand Blue Marlin Loins, variable size; approximately 3- to 5-pound package; product codes: all units sold up to and including August 1, 2016; UPC: none supplied
  • Sea Delight including Blue Marlin Loins, 3- to 5-pound size, 6.8 kilogram (approximately 15 pound) package; lot number: 500290; production date: 14 SEP 17; product codes: best-before date code: 16 SEP 16; UPC: 1 84 36544 90159 3
  • Sea Delight including Blue Marlin Loins, 3- to 5-pound size; 6.8 kilogram (approximately 15 pound) package; lot number: 29CON0; best-before date code: SEP/17/2017; UPC: 1 843654 490109 8

According to the CFIA, Sea Delight Canada SLU has recalled the above batch/lots of Sea Delight brand Blue Marlin Fish Loins from the marketplace due to elevated levels of Histamine. You should not consume nor should distributors, retailers and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals and nursing homes sell or use the recalled Fish listed above.

Please note: the individual 3- to 5-pound Blue Marlin Fish Loins may also have been sold unlabelled or without the original packaging at retail. Consumers who are unsure if they have purchased the affected Blue Marlin Fish Loins are advised to contact their retailer.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Fish, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
