Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves 3M Vented Hard Hats sold under the 3M, 3M Tekk Protection or AOSafety brands.

The recalled Hard Hats are white, have eight, 3/4-inch long ventilation slits along each side at the hat’s crown and have a ratchet adjustment for fit. The brands, “3M” or “AOSafety” is molded into the white plastic on the top of the brim.

The phrase, “XLR8 VENTED” is molded onto the bottom of each Hard Hat’s brim. In addition, the safety rating, “ANSI Z89.1” is printed on a sticker inside the Hard Hats. This recall only involves the 3M Hard Hats sold online.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Hard Hats’ design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled personal protective equipment (“PPE”) is pictured on the Web site above.

According to the CPSC, the Hard Hats sold online were marketed to protect against electric shock, but in fact, they do not provide this protection. This defect, therefore, poses a shock hazard to wearers of the personal protective equipment.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Vented Hard Hats, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact 3M for a free replacement Hard Hat.
