Canada/Ottawa: Fjord Laks brand Scottish Smoked SalmonA & E Distribution Inc. updates its existing recalls for certain batch/lots of Fjord Laks brand Smoked Fish Products due to suspected Clostridium botulinum contamination, a serious health hazard. CFIA: http://ht.ly/Cg5u302eTAd

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Smoked Fish are subject to this recall:

  • Fjord Laks brand Irish Smoked Salmon, 100 gram package; product codes: all best-before dates up to and including July 16, 2016; UPC: variable
  • Fjord Laks brand Royal Smoked Empereur Gravlax Marinated Smoked Salmon, 100 gram package; product codes:all best-before dates up to and including July 16, 2016; UPC: variable
  • Fjord Laks brand Smoked Rainbow Trout, 125 gram package; product codes:all best-before dates up to and including July 16, 2016; UPC: variable
  • Fjord Laks brand Scottish Smoked Salmon, 100 gram package; product codes:all best-before dates up to and including July 18, 2016; UPC: variable

According to the CFIA, a previous food recall concerning Fjord Laks brand Smoked Fish Products has been updated to include additional distribution information. This additional information was identified during the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s food safety investigation.

A & E Distribution Inc. has recalled certain batch/lots of Fjord Laks brand Fish Products from the marketplace because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum if sold refrigerated. You should not consume the recalled products listed above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Fish Products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
