US/Washington: 7264 - TraderGiottosCaesarSaladsGhiringhelli Specialty Foods recalls an estimated 2,444 pounds of Trader Giotto’s Salads with Chicken due to suspected mislabeling and undeclared anchovy fish, soy and wheat, all known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Caesar Salads are subject to this recall:

  • Trader Giotto’s Caesar Salads with Chicken Breast, sold in 9-ounce plastic clamshell tubs with clear lid containers, a multi-color label with a use-by code of 06/28.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional variation of the recalled Salads is pictured on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Salads subject to recall bear establishment number “P-17156″ inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington state.

The company notified FSIS of the mislabeling on June 25, 2016, after the company received notice of the issue from a customer. The recalled Salads have the correct label on the top of the package, but show an incorrect back label for “Trader Joe’s Chicken & Roast Beet Salad.”

Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
