US/Silver Spring: Kasha CompanyKashi Company expands its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Kashi Golean Honey Pecan Baklava Bars and Bear Naked Soft Baked Granola, Cinnamon + Sunflower Butter due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes caused by contaminated sunflower seeds distributed by its supplier, SunOpta, a serious health hazard. The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Granola-based food products are subject to this recall:

  • The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports two (2) new best-if-used-before dates on Kashi Golean Honey Pecan Baklava Bars, and one (1) new best-if-used-before date on Bear Naked Soft Baked Granola, Cinnamon + Sunflower Butter are subject to this recall: The updated recall information include the following:
    • Kashi Golean Honey Pecan Baklava Bars, 5-count with a UPC of 18627 10474 with a Golean date ranges of Jul21 16; Aug07 16; Sep13 16; Sep22 16; and Oct20 16
    • Bear Naked Soft Baked Granola, Cinnamon + Sunflower Butter, 11-ounce pouches with a UPC 84623 10163 with a best-if-used-before date range of Aug 13 2016 to Jan 11 2017

The date codes can be found on the top of the box of the Honey Pecan Baklava Bars, and at the bottom of the pouch of the Bear Naked Granola.
