EU issues 40 Product & Vehicle Recalls

FlagEUBelgium/Brussels: The European Union issues Report 23-2016 of its Rapid Alert System containing 40 new consumer and industrial-based product recalls; a must-read for parents, caregivers, drivers, health and safety workers, company owners, supervisors and others:

Among the 40 recalls the European Union has announced in this June Report, the following notification was made:

AMAL II Brand Wooden Infant Cot; type/number of model: ROSA / reference 1413408; batch number/barcode: not listed; type of hazard: child entrapment and injuries as the bars of the recalled cot can detach and a child could fall through the gap created. In addition, the gaps between the bars at the base of the Cot are too large. While playing, a child could put its arms through the bars and become trapped.

The Cot, therefore, does not comply with the requirements of the European Union’s EN 716 standard and has been ordered recalled from end users and withdrawn from the marketplace.
