The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Butane Fire Lighters are subject to this recall:

  • Gasmate Butane Fire Lighter, model number BT1000

According to the ACCC, when the recalled Lighter is engaged with the gas cartridge as detailed in the manufacturer’s instructions, a gas leak may occur. If this defect occurs, the resultant gas leak may present fire, explosion and injury hazards to the operator and to those nearby.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Gasmate Butane Fire Lighters, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
