The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Frozen Vegetables are subject to this recall:

  • Simple Truth Organic Mixed Vegetables, sold in ten (10)-ounce plastic pouches with a green on white design and full-color vegetable photograph, a sell-by date range from December 2016 to January 2017 and a UPC of 0001111036738.

According to the FDA, on May 5, 2016, CRF Frozen Foods informed Kroger and numerous other retailers it was initiating a recall on certain batch/lots supplied of Frozen Vegetables due to the potential risk that these Vegetables might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Kroger Co. stores operating under the following names are included in this recall:  Kroger, Jay-C, Dillons, Bakers, Gerbes, King Soopers, City Market, Fry’s, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, QFC and Smith’s.

This product was sold in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Frozen Vegetables, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Vegetables to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: this notification is a part of a much larger recall of Frozen Fruits and Vegetables from CRF Frozen Foods in which 358 separate frozen fruit and vegetable products sold under 42 separate brands were withdrawn from the marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
