The UK Chartered Trading Standards Institute (“CTSI”) reports the following Almonds are subject to this recall:

  • By Sainsbury’s brand Almonds, package size 300 grams with a best-before date end of April 2017. No UPC or barcode was listed with this product.
  • By Sainsbury’s brand Flaked Almonds, package size 200 grams with a best-before date end of March 2017. No UPC or barcode was listed with this product.

According to the CTSI, Sainsbury’s has recalled certain batch/lots of By Sainsbury’s Almonds and By Sainsbury’s Flaked Almonds because a limited number of packs contain Brazil nuts, an ingredient not listed on the label.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Almonds and could be allergic to their Brazil Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
