The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Fans are subject to this recall:

  • Chrome Green Fan, APN 9341103040731, sold at Kmart

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Fan’s design and retail presentation. Additional brands and/or variations of the recalled products are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the ACCC, damage to the recalled Fan’s On/Off switch, either through dropping or knocking the unit, may cause the switch to become live with 240V AC. If this defect occurs, it could produce an electric shock to the user or arcing hazard to those nearby.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chrome Fans, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the Kmart store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (“PPE”) when working with electrical fixtures, including gloves and protective eye ware. Ensure all circuits are turned off at the panel before working with any electrical appliance or lighting fixture.
