The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Syrup is subject to this recall:

  • Saltbush Kitchen Roasted Wattleseed Syrup, sold in 200 mL glass bottles consisting of wattleseed spice, brown sugar and water with a batch number of 015 and an expiry date of 13/11/16.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the beverage’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, the recalled Syrup’s labelling does not state the requirement to refrigerate it after opening. Fermentation may occur after opening the product if it is not refrigerated and this may lead to the glass bottle shattering due to increased internal pressures, posing a potential laceration hazard to those nearby.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Wattleseed Syrup, please refrigerate the product immediately after opening or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
