The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Sunflower Products are subject to this recall:

  • Kroger Cranberry Delight Trail Mix, 14 ounce package; sell by codes: MAR0917, MAR1017, MAR1117 and APR1117; UPC: 0001111089869
  • Kroger Salad Toppers Sunflower Kernels, 3.5 ounce package; sell by codes: DEC0316 and DEC0416; UPC: 0001111002127
  • Kroger Sunflower Kernels, 6 ounce package; sell by codes: DEC1116, DEC1316 and DEC1416; UPC: 0001111061877

According to the FDA, the Kroger Co. has recalled certain Kroger Sunflower Salad Toppers, Kroger Sunflower Kernels and Kroger Cranberry Delight Trail Mix after a supplier reported its sunflower kernels may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Sunflower Seed Products sold at stores operating under the following names are included in this recall: Bakers, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Fry’s, Gerbes, Jay–C, King Soopers, Kroger, Ralphs and Smith’s.

The recalled Sunflower Seed Products were shipped and sold in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Sunflower Seed Products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation such as a salad. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
