The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Eviscerated Salted Fish are subject to this recall:

  • Vobla (Roach) Dry Eviscerated Salted Fish, UPC: 4606495-001308
  • Bream – Dry Eviscerated Salted Fish, UPC: 4606495001346

The recalled Fish Products were sold in un-coded clear, vacuum pack plastic bags, each weighing approximately 5.29 ounces, as listed above.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled foods are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, the recalled Fish Products were imported from Russia and sold to retail stores in California and New York from February through April 2016.

The potential for contamination was noted after routine sampling and inspection by the US Food and Drug Administration and subsequent analysis of the Bream Fish by the FDA confirmed the Fish was not properly eviscerated prior to processing.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Salted Fish, please do not consume it. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
