US/Washington: Digiorno Pizza & Stouffer's Lasagna Recall [US]Nestle USA recalls 267,024 pounds of Chicken Pizza Products, produced at its Little Chute, Wisconsin establishment, and Chicken Lasagna Products, produced at its Springville, Utah establishment due to possible glass fragment contamination, a serious health and safety hazard. The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Products are subject to this recall:

  • Digiorno Pizzeria! Tuscan-Style Chicken Pizza, sold in 19.03-ounce boxes with case codes of 601752592 and 601852591 and a best-by date code of August 2016
  • Stouffer’s Chicken Lasagna, sold in 96-ounce boxes with a case code of 5355595915 and a best-by date code of January 2018

According to the USDA, the Digiorno Pizzeria! Tuscan-Style Chicken Pizza subject to recall bears the establishment number “P-5754” while the Stouffer’s Chicken Lasagna subject to recall bears the establishment number “P9018” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations US nationwide.

The problem was discovered after Nestle USA received multiple consumer complaints regarding small pieces of glass in foods that fall under the jurisdiction of US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) or the US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”).

If plastic, metal or glass fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Digiorno Pizza or Stouffer’s Lasagna, please do not consume them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
