The UK Chartered Trading Standards Institute (“CTSI”) reports the following St John’s Wort Tablets are subject to this recall:

  • St John’s Wort Tablets, sold in 334 mg packages with a SKU of 463966, a batch number of 14523 and an expiry date of 08/2016

According to the CTSI, the Herbal Research Company Ltd, the OEM manufacturer of this Superdrug branded drug product, has recalled six (6) batches of St John’s Wort tablets as testing has shown the presence of a toxic pyrrolizidine alkaloid (“PA”) above the threshold recommended by the UK Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC). This Superdrug notification is one of the recalled batches of this larger recall.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled drug, please do not consume it. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
