Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves some Chivas Regal “The Art Of Hosting” Tumbler Gift Packs containing a single bottle (750 mL) of Chivas Regal 12-Year-Old Scotch Whisky and two Glass Tumblers.

  • The recalled items are Chivas branded Gift Packs with a UPC of 5000299601822, marked on the bottom of the gift box.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. An additional variation of the recalled Alcohol Gift Pack is pictured on the Web site above.

According to Health Canada, the Glass Tumblers included in the recalled Gift Packs may be damaged, posing a laceration hazard. Neither the whiskey in the Gift Packs nor any Chivas Alcohol Product outside of this limited edition Gift Pack is affected.

Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of this product. The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (“LCBO”) has received one (1) report of a customer in Ontario cutting a finger on a Tumbler contained in a Gift Pack. This incident resulted in a minor laceration injury.

In addition, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Alcohol Gift Packs, please do not consume them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
