Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves certain NexScene 8 Modes 10M 100 LED String Fairy Lights sold for weddings, Christmas parties and holidays (warm white lights).

The recalled Lights can be identified by model number “NX-001” and a UPC of 084797706024, but other NexScene branded or manufactured String Lights and models may be affected. As a further identifying mark, the product packaging may have the phrases, “Happy Diwali” or “Christmas Decorations” printed on them.

According to Health Canada, testing by Health Canada has determined that these String Lights may pose an electric shock, overheating and/or fire hazards.

Health Canada is aware of one (1) report of a fire resulting in a death in the United States which is alleged to have been started by a NexScene brand String Light product.

The time period in which the recalled products were sold in Canada is unknown, but the products were sold by third-party sellers from the Web site from August 2014 to January 2015.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled String Lights, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return them to the store or outlet where you purchased them or dispose of them according to your local municipal waste regulations.
