Additional information:
Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves certain Bestar brand Five-Drawer Juvenile Dressers available in two colours: white and Antigua (brown).

The recalled Juvenile Dressers measure approximately 48″ high by 30″ wide by 16″ deep and weigh approximately 108 pounds empty. They have a melamine surface and the drawer handles have a matte chrome finish.

A tip-over restraint is supplied with each Juvenile Dresser to anchor the unit to the wall. The model numbers for the two colours available are 49250-1152 (for the brown model) and 49250-1117 (for the white model). Both Juvenile Dressers are sold with the UPC number of 63753045292.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation. An additional color variation of the recalled Juvenile Dressers is pictured on the Web site above.

According to Health Canada, the recalled Dressers can tip-over if not securely anchored to the wall using the tip-over restraints provided with the product. This poses both entrapment and injury hazards. Health Canada and Bestar inc. have received one (1) report of a tip-over incident in Canada, resulting in an injury.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dressers, please remove them from your child’s area and use another dresser that is properly anchored to the wall. Next, kindly contact Bestar for a repair kit containing two 13-3/4″ by 47-1/4 by 1/2″ panels, screws, an additional tip-over restraint and a set of installation instructions free of charge.

If you have any questions about this recall notification, please contact Bestar toll-free at 1-888-823-7827 during normal business hours.
