The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Ground Beef is subject to this recall:

  • Generic branded Ground Beef, produced on Nov. 20, 2015 and sold in various weights

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Ground Beef’s possible packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the USDA, the recalled product bears establishment number “Est. 9085” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The item was distributed to restaurants in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. None of this Ground Beef is known to have been sold at retail directly to consumers.

The problem was discovered on January 19, 2016, when a positive result for E. coli O157:H7 from the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) testing was traced back to the establishment as a result of an ongoing illness investigation in Tennessee.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Ground Beef, please do not consume it. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
