The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Luggage Straps are subject to this recall:

  • Viking brand Rubber Tie Down Straps (also known as “Ocky” or “Luggage Straps”). measuring 10″, 15″, 21″ and 31″ inches and having item numbers 93690, 93691, 93692 and 93693 respectively.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this product does not comply with Australia’s mandatory standard because the text on the required safety warning label is smaller than permitted. Consequently, consumers may not be able to clearly read the warning label and if rubber straps are over stretched it may cause the straps to rebound potentially causing injury.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Luggage Straps, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact your nearest supplier to obtain a replacement label that clearly identifies applicable risk and injury prevention strategies.
