The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate Brownies are subject to this recall:

  • Bakery Fresh Goodness brand Chocolate Brownies, sold in 16 ounce clear plastic containers with lot numbers beginning with “15307” and purchased between November 7, 2015 and November 16, 2015 with a UPC: of 11110-09172

According to the FDA, Chocolate Brownies sold at all stores operating under the JayC and Smith’s names, as well as Kroger branded stores located in the following states (or specific cities or parts of states) are affected by this recall:

  • Alabama
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Michigan
  • Missouri
  • Ohio
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • West Virginia

Kroger has removed the affected Chocolate Brownies from store shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system that alerts registered customers who may have purchased these products through register receipt tape messages and phone calls.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Chocolate Brownies and could be allergic to their walnut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
