Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Drugs are subject to this recall:
- Two (2) batches of Pharmacy Care Ibuprofen Suspension for Children, batch numbers IA50250 with an expiry date of 08/2017 and IA50253 with an expiry date 08/2017.
- One (1) batch of Pharmacy Care Cetirizine Oral Solution for 1 to 12 years, batch number IA50735 with an expiry date of 05/2018.
According the ACCC, the bottle grooves that secure the lids on these drug products could break off during opening. If this happens, there is a risk that small pieces of plastic could be ingested if the issue is not identified by the user, potentially posing a choking hazard.
If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled drugs, please do not consume them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
