The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Buttery Spread is subject to recall:

  • Asda Buttery Spread, 500 gram tub with a best-before end code of 28 December 2015 and a bar code/UPC of 505407048345

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, a small number of packages of Asda Buttery Spread have potentially been contaminated with clear hard plastic pieces.

If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled tubs of Buttery Spread, please do not consume them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
