The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Spices are subject to this recall:

  • Rau Răm (Finger Mint), sold in variable size/weight packages; product codes: none; UPC: none
  • Ngò Gai (Culantro), sold in variable size/weight packages; product codes: none; UPC: none

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. An additional variation of the recalled Spices are pictured on the Web site above.

According to the CFIA, only Rau Răm (finger mint) and Ngò Gai (culantro) imported by Canada Herb and sold from October 14, 2015 to October 20, 2015 are affected by this warning. These products may have been sold in clear plastic bags bearing the name “Canada Herb” or may have been repackaged or sold in bulk without a label or coding.

==> If you are unsure if you have purchased either of the recalled Spices, please contact your retailer. When in doubt, throw the product in the trash and wash well everything that has come into contact with the suspect Spices with lots of hot soap water. For hard surfaces, use a chlorine/bleach mixture, rinse throughly and dry well. Always use standard personal protective equipment (“PPE”) when working with bleach. This includes gloves, eye protection and a mask if ventilation is limited.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Spices, please do not consume it. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
