Additional information:
The UK Chartered Trading Standards Institute (“CTSI”) reports the following Ale is subject to this recall:

  • Staffordshire Brewery Ales and Ciders sold in 1000 ml Flagon bottles

Please consult the photograph above for details of the drink’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the CTSI, there may be a fault with the glass in this bottle. This may cause the large bottle (or “flagon”) to shatter, create glass fragments and injury to consumers. This is an expansion of an earlier recall in which just one Ale was recalled due to the same hazard.

If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Ale, please do not consume them. Instead, contact Cottage Delight in Staffordshire Moorlands, ST13 7QF on 01538 398839.
