The UK Chartered Trading Standards Institute (“CTSI”) reports the following Sleep Bags are subject to this recall:

  • Whale Bay Sleep Bag 6-18M 1TOG; style code: D3843; UPC: 634596-7
  • Whale Bay Sleep Bag 18-36M 1TOG; style code: D3844; UPC: 634594-3
  • Whale Bay Sleep Bag 6-18M 2.5TOG; style code: D3840; UPC: 634584-4
  • Whale Bay Sleep Bag 18-24M 2.5TOG; style code: D3841; UPC: 634614-8

Please consult the photographs above for details of the Sleep Bags’ packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the CTSI, the sole button on the above recalled Sleep Bags is decorative and has no functional purpose. If it becomes detached, however, it may present a small parts and/or choking hazards for children.

These sleep bags were sold from 2 February to 24 August 2015.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession either of the recalled Sleep Bags, please do not use them nor let your child sleep in an unmodified Bag. Instead, kindly please remove the hazardous button by carefully cutting the threads with a small pair of scissors and safely discarding the button.

Alternatively, please return the product to your nearest Mothercare store, where the button will be removed for you. If neither of these options is acceptable, you may opt for a suitable exchange or a full refund.
