US/Washington: Olli Salumeria Americana Salami Recall [US]Olli Salumeria Americana recalls approximately 5,391 pounds of Salami due to undeclared sulfites, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Salami products are subject to this recall:

  • “Olli Salumeria Napoli Applewood Smoked Salame” sold in 5.5 pound bulk cases containing three (3) pieces each with case code “2610” on the packaging.
  • “Olli Salumeria Sopressata Robust Salame” sold in 5.5 pound bulk cases containing three (3) pieces each with case code “2659” on the packaging.
  • “Olli Salumeria Genoa Mild Salame” sold in 5.5 pound bulk cases containing three (3) pieces each with case code “2449” on the packaging.
  • “Olli Salumeria Toscano Fennel Pollen Salame” sold in 5.5 pound bulk cases containing three (3) pieces each with case code “2609” on the packaging.
  • “Olli Salumeria Pepperoni Classic American Salame” sold in 5.5 lb. bulk cases containing three (3) pieces each with case code “2295” on the packaging.
  • “Olli Salumeria Calabrese Spicy Salame” sold in 5.5 pound bulk cases containing three (3) pieces each with case code “2448” on the packaging.

According to the USDA, the Salami products subject to recall bear establishment number “Est. 45334” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were sold to one (1) distributor, which then sold it to restaurants in Arizona, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Nevada and New York.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Salami products and could be allergic to their sulfite ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
