Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves all First Generation JetForce Black Diamond, Pieps and POC model Airbag Packs manufactured by Black Diamond between October 2, 2014 and March 3, 2015

The manufacture date code ranging from 14275 to 15077 can be found inside the front pocket label. The date codes are listed in a” YYDDD” format. Date codes on some products are truncated in a “YDDD” format (ex.4275). The JetForce Technology logo is on the left shoulder strap and an instruction label is on the inside flap of the back panel.

The following models and colors of Avalanche Airbag Packs are included in this recall:

  • Black Diamond brand Pilot 11 JetForce Avalanche Airbag Pack; colors: black or fire red
  • Black Diamond brand Halo 28 JetForce Avalanche Airbag Pack; colors: black or fire red
  • Black Diamond brand Saga 40 JetForce Avalanche Airbag Pack; colors: black or fire red
  • PEIPS brand PIEPS JetForce TOUR PRO 34; colors: black with chili red or black with yellow
  • PEIPS brand PIEPS JetForce TOUR RIDER 24; colors: black with chili red or black with yellow
  • POC brand POC Thorax Backpack; colors: orange

According to the CPSC, the motor integral to these Airbag Packs can malfunction and prevent the Airbag from properly deploying, increasing the risk of injury or death in the event of a snow avalanche.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Avalanche Airbags, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
